TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. DP Music Services complies with the requirements set out in the Data Protection Act 1998.
  2. Information contained on this website and in the correspondence courses 'Theory by Post' and 'Theory by Email' is available freely (or for a subsciption in the case of the correspondence courses 'Theory by Post' and 'Theory by Email'); however DP Music Services disclaims liability for any improper, fraudulent, malicious or other undesirable use made of this material.
  3. All students of the correspondence courses 'Theory by Post' and 'Theory by Email' will receive, in exchange for payment of the appropriate fee, one module of the chosen course at a time together with related course exercises.
  4. DP Music Services will mark and grade work sent from individual students who are enrolled for the courses 'Theory by Post' and 'Theory by Email' and will provide a report of the work submitted. Further tuition and supplementary exercises will be provided if marked work demonstrates a need for such additional course materials.
  5. Comments made by DP Music Services in students' reports are not to be taken as general comments relating to the work of any student, but merely to each individual piece of work marked.
  6. Marked work will be returned to students as quickly as possible; however DP Music Services make no guarantee to return work within a particular timespan. In the vast majority of cases work will be returned within a week or ten days from the date of its receipt.
  7. Marking standards are based on over 20 years' experience of teaching; however they may not compare exactly with standards set by other tutors. Comments and grades are given in good faith and in most cases will compare favourably with other independent assessments of the same work; however DP Music Services disclaims liability for any comments or grades which subsequently are proved to be inaccurate assessments.
  8. Use of the Royal Mail's FREEPOST system is entirely at the discretion of each student. Royal Mail does not guarantee delivery of work posted using this system; it is nevertheless offered as an extra benefit of the course.
  9. A student may quit either course at any time; however it is expected that the student sends a letter or email to DP Music Services explaining that he or she is quitting the course; if the student had agreed to follow the course for at least ten modules and he or she has not done so a further payment will be necessary, this being the difference between the standard price and the reduced price of each module.
  10. Refunds are given at the discretion of the Management.
  11. Students may enter for external examinations at certain points in their study if they so wish; however although DP Music Services is happy to co-ordinate examination entries submitted by students of the course no guarantee is made that students will pass their examinations, and no part of the fees (either course fees or examination entry fees) will be refunded should a student fail an examination.
  12. All course materials for 'Theory by Post' and 'Theory by Email' are strictly copyrighted and should not be reproduced in any form or by any means (including printing, photocopying and manual copying) without the permission of DP Music Services.
  13. DP Music Services disclaims liability for the effects produced by any viruses downloaded from this site; notwithstanding this, DP Music Services is not aware of any viruses currently contained on the site and intends to keep the site virus-free.
  14. Cookies. At present DP Music Services does not use cookies; however if a decision is made to start using cookies in the future, details will appear on this site.
  15. For terms and conditions relating to other services provided (such as private tuition) a separate (printed) leaflet is available.
